As a visible sign of our commitment to more sustainability, the renowned Italian EcoArt artist Iena Cruz has created the impressive mural “LINFA" (2023) on the façade of our Biotest parking garage.

With "LINFA", we want to remind ourselves every day that together we can realise our goal of complete carbon neutrality by 2035.

The artwork itself is also a small, further step on this path. This is because Iena Cruz works with a special paint whose sophisticated technology actively filters carbon dioxide from the air. The large-scale painting covers a good 760 square metres and is able to filter as much CO2 from the air as almost 100 mature trees in a year.

"LINFA" is the first EcoArt mural in Germany

Earlier works of the EcoArt artist Iena Cruz are located in USA, Italy, Spain and Mexico. The Biotest painting is his first work in Germany. The name "LINFA" is of Italian origin and means translated "lymph" or also "juice of life". With this the artist wants to give the viewer new inspiration and convey that we humans are connected with the nature that surrounds us. The painting is arranged vertically and shows, from bottom to top, several ecosystems that merge and are mutually dependent on each other. A human silhouette, reminiscent of a Greek goddess, directs her gaze toward a joyful future but her gaze is saddened by clouds. This scene appeals to us to be more sustainable and take responsibility for future generations.

“The philosophy of “From nature for life” resonated with me on a profound level, and I found it incredibly inspiring. Biotest’s dedication to connecting donors and patients through their medicines, ultimately improving people’s health, aligned perfectly with my own values as an artist. My objective was to find a way to visually communicate Biotest’s philosophy and our shared DNA through the mural. I wanted to create a piece of art that not only captured the essence of their mission but also reflected our collective commitment to nature and life."

Committing today for tomorrow

With “LINFA”, the huge anti-pollution mural by Iena Cruz, we not only inspire our employees but also our neighbours, the citizens of Dreieich. Our ongoing commitment to more sustainability and the expansion of jobs in Dreieich make us an important and responsible partner in the community. For Martin Burlon, Mayor of Dreieich, sustainability is a bridge between present and future: It means improving the wellbeing of the citizens of today and the citizens of tomorrow, and it passes through the concrete commitment of people and companies as Biotest.
